The Newsletter 2008-1 has been published and can be downloaded from the IAVCEI webpage Several forms are now available in the webpage. These include application forms for travel grants, new commissions, organization of workshops, courses and meetings, and proposals for hosting IAVCEI General Assembly 2013. Applications for travel grants will be considered for all meetings, workshops and courses sponsored by IAVCEI, and a specific call for applications for each of them will be published in our webpage in due course. In the particular case of IAVCEI GA 2008, travel grants offered by IAVCEI will be considered together with the ones offered by the organisation of the meeting, and will be selected among those applications submitted to the organising committee in the specific call they published in the webpage of the meeting. IAVCEI endorsement and sponsorship of meetings, courses and workshops will require submitting the corresponding application well in advance. IAVCEI financial support will be offered to cover travel grants for students and scientists, preferentially those from less favoured countries. The number of grants and the total amount assigned to each one will depend on the availability of funds and on the specific characteristics of each event. A call for proposals for hosting IAVCEI General Assembly 2013 is now open and will close by June 30th. Applicants should fill the corresponding form and send it to joan.marti@xxxxxxxxxxxx The IAVCEI Executive Committee will evaluate the applications received and the outcome will be announced during the GA in Reykjavik.
