GOLDSCHMIDT 2008 - Vancouver, BC, Canada

We would like to draw the following fieldtrips to the attentions of
volcanologists interested in attending the 2008 Goldschmidt conference in
Vancouver, BC.

Fieldtrip registration will open soon. Please visit
www.goldschmidt2008.org/fieldTrips for more details.

Fieldtrip 2 - "EFFUSIVE TO EXPLOSIVE VOLCANISM IN THE CANADIAN CASCADES:
INSIGHTS INTO LANDSCAPE-CONTROLLED VOLCANIC PROCESSES". July 12-13
(pre-conference).

This 2-day trip will examine sub-glacial and post-glacial volcanism near
Whistler, and then explore the deposits of the last explosive eruption in
Canada (2360 BP) at Mount Meager.

Maximum 24 participants. C$230 (double) / C$310 (single).

Fieldtrip 3 - "MIO-PLIOCENE BASALT VOLCANISM IN THE FRASER PLATEAU:
INTERACTION BETWEEN PERSISTENT VOLCANISM AND TERRESTRIAL LANDSCAPE
EVOLUTION". July 18-21 (post-conference).

This 3.5 day excursion will visit the Chilcotin Group basalts of
south-central BC. We will examine several localities key to interpreting
the emplacement of these lavas, and their interaction with the topography
and environment at the time.

Maximum 24 participants. C$560 (double) / C$660 (single).

Thanks,

Graham Andrews & Kelly Russell (co-leaders)
