Dear all, I'd like to announce that the 2007 short course "Melts, Glasses, Magmas", will be held in Munich by Prof. Dingwell from 18 June to 22 June 2007. This course provides insights into the nature of the liquid state using examples from the Silicate Systems that play a central role in Earth and Material Sciences. The course comprises lectures and laboratory exercises on density and equation of state, viscosity and rheology, thermochemistry and thermal properties, electrical and optical properties, solubilities of volatiles, surface properties, strength and hardness.
