Do you use vdr-sfxe as the frontend?
Could you please tell me, which version of vdr, xineliboutput and
xine-lib you are using?

This is how vdr-sxfe presents itself:
vdr-sxfe --help
vdr-sxfe 1.0.90-cvs (build with xine-lib 1.2.2, using xine-lib 1.2.3)

As far as I can reconstruct I downloaded and compiled the source on 26th May this year.

My client pc is a sabayon box too, but I use ffmpeg from portage tree instead of libav. The disadvantage of this is that I have to use and compile the tools depending on virtual package ffmpeg (like xine-lib, mplayer, vlc ...) from portage tree as well:

[ebuild U ] virtual/ffmpeg-9 [0.10.3] USE="X encode gsm mp3 sdl speex theora threads truetype vaapi vdpau x264 -jpeg2k -opus%" 0 kB

[ebuild R ] media-video/ffmpeg-1.2.1 USE="X aac alsa amr bzip2 cpudetection encode faac fftools_aviocat fftools_cws2fws fftools_ffescape fftools_ffeval fftools_fourcc2pixfmt fftools_graph2dot fftools_ismindex fftools_pktdumper fftools_qt-faststart fftools_trasher gnutls gsm hardcoded-tables iconv ieee1394 jack mmx mp3 network openal pulseaudio sdl speex theora threads truetype v4l vaapi vdpau vorbis vpx x264 xvid zlib -3dnow -3dnowext -aacplus (-altivec) -avx -bindist -bluray -cdio -celt -debug -doc -examples -fdk -flite -fontconfig -frei0r -iec61883 -jpeg2k -libass -libcaca -libsoxr -libv4l -mmxext -modplug -neon -openssl -opus -oss -pic -rtmp -schroedinger -ssse3 -static-libs {-test} -twolame (-vis)" 0 kB

[ebuild R ] media-libs/xine-lib-1.2.3:1 USE="X a52 aac aalib alsa bluray css dts dvb dxr3 flac gtk imagemagick ipv6 jack jpeg mad mmap mng musepack nls opengl pulseaudio sdl speex theora truetype v4l vdpau vdr vorbis xcb xinerama xv xvmc (-altivec) -directfb -fbcon -fusion -libcaca -modplug -oss -samba -vaapi -vcd (-vidix) (-vis) -wavpack" 0 kB

Thank you very very much!
Today I made an update to xine-lib 1.2.3 (with portage, not entropy) and now VDR works fine!

The installation is straight forward, but nevertheless I documented it here:

(Sorry for some German texts in there, but the essentials should be understandable...)

Regards,
Stephan.
