Good morning ladies & gentlemen, Enclosed is today’s Fuller Fire update for Wednesday August 3, 2016.
Fuller Fire Update: Fuel Break benefits continue Wednesday, August 3, 2016 Completion: 48% Acres: 14,541 Start Date: June 29, 2016 Cause: Lightning
Location: Point Imperial, N. Rim Grand Canyon NP
Total Personnel: 139
Fuels/Topography: Timber, grass, rugged terrain Crews made good progress with the fuel mitigation work along FSR 219 as well as creating fuel breaks off the FSR 610 and FSR 611. This work to implement contingency line will continue, which will create a buffer for fire movement in this
densely forested, overgrown area. Minimal fire activity will continue with the recent rain that the area has received over the last few days.
Precipitation is expected throughout the rest of the week with localized flooding possible. Initial Attack crews will be available to mitigate any possible lightning strikes in the area if needed. We anticipate several road and trail closures to be lifted soon. We will post changes to our Facebook page and Inciweb as soon as we receive notification. Check with the National Park Service at
