Williams Ranger District Pile Burning
Postponed Until Friday

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - Kaibab National Forest fire managers announce pile burning planned near Dogtown Lake on the Williams Ranger District will be postponed until Friday. Burning will be delayed due to forecasted poor ventilation for Thursday.
If conditions improve, fire personnel plan to ignite 122 acres of slash piles three miles southeast of Williams, Friday.
Light winds are predicted late this week which will help with smoke dispersal. Managers expect smoke to drift south of the piles and settle in local areas overnight.
The pile burning is part of an ongoing effort to reduce hazardous fuels and improve forest health. For more information, please contact Punky Moore (928-635-5653).
