The Chugach National Forest, Seward Ranger District will host a public meeting seeking input for the Bean North Vegetation Project near Cooper Landing, Alaska. The area under consideration encompasses approximately 700-acres along Juneau and Bean Creeks within the Cooper Landing Wildland Urban Interface. The management actions are being considered under the Healthy Forest Restoration Act (HFRA).
Forest Service staff will be available to provide information and respond to questions. Public participation is encouraged to determine if and how the Forest Service might proceed with a project in this area. A 30-day public scoping period would occur at a later date should the Forest Service decide to move forward with the project.
Meeting location and details: The meeting will be held January 25 between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Cooper Landing Community Center.
