Forwarding information from our partners. The Coconino NF is not conducting any prescribed burns today.

Prescribed pile burns around Flagstaff today

Flagstaff, AZ – The Flagstaff Fire Department Wildland Fire Crew and the Bear Jaw Fire and Fuels Module (made of Summit, Highlands, Pinewood fire departments) are conducting multiple prescribed pile burns today. Crews will closely monitor all piles to ensure good consumption and minimal smoke impact.


The Flagstaff Fire Department's Wildland Fire Crew will be conducting multiple miscellaneous prescribed pile burns today.  These piles are small hand piles which located throughout the following Flagstaff areas: Westridge community behind the BIA dorms (legal coordinates T21 R7 S8), near the outdoor Racquet Ball Courts at Thorpe park (legal coordinates T21 R7 S16), as well as in the Rio De Flag drainage South of Interstate 40 (legal coordinates T21 R 7 Sec 23).  If there are any questions regarding today's planned ignitions please contact the Flagstaff Fire Department Fuel Management at 928-556-1207.

 
The Bear Jaw Fire and Fuels Module will be conducting a 5 acre pile burn east of Lake Mary Meadows (legal coordinates  T 20, R 8, Sec.19NE/SE). Smoke will be minimal and is only expected to last through the day. If there are any concerns or questions please call 928-525-1717 ext.1155.
