Recent rains have created ideal conditions for crews to conduct prescribed pile burns.
Slash piles consist of the debris from forest thinning projects.  Piles should be completely consumed the same day they’re ignited and smoke should be minimal.

For Saturday – Monday, May 23-25 (piles at the following locations are all part of the Eastside Project):

Behind Horseman's lodge, off Hwy 89.  Legal location: T22 R8 S28,
East of Manning Rd, off Townsand-Winona Rd.  Legal location: T22 R8 S35,
And East of the Pine Canyon subdivision. Legal location: T21 R7 S35.

For Tuesday, May 26
Bly Pit Project – piles are located approximately 7 miles north of the Mogollon Rim Ranger Station and Hwy 87.  Smoke will be visible from Hwy 87, and some residual smoke may briefly impact the highway overnight.  Legal Location:  T15 R10 S19.
