Tusayan Ranger District Lifts Temporary Travel Restrictions

TUSAYAN, Ariz. – The Tusayan Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest has lifted the temporary travel restrictions that had been implemented due to muddy and hazardous road conditions.

Some forest roads had temporarily been closed to vehicle access in order to prevent resource damage and provide for public safety.  However, warmer and drier conditions have allowed forest managers to lift the travel restrictions.

Motorists should still use caution, as snow and mud may still be present on some roads.

Visitors to the area should contact the Tusayan Ranger District at (928) 638-2443 before traveling in order to verify weather and road conditions.
