The free server list has some good suggestions but if you can spare $10 per year (or whatever 10 euros is at current exchange rates), I and many people would suggest news.individual.net. Well-connected, carries all well-formed text groups across many heirarchies, Cleanfeed etc, no binaries nor posting limits (within reason) - and helpful support people. My current ISP carries Usenet but I still keep my individual.net subscription because the feed is so complete and timely.
