Thanks for that quick response. 

Actually, my plodding stupidity has managed to resolve this part of the 
mystery pretty quickly. 

I do recall some others on the list recommending that I use aptitude instead 
of just apt-get. But old habits die hard, y'know? I've tried it before, but 
never realized much advantage, and I like working with my stone tools. 

Anyway, so aptitude got rid of this snag. Once I have rebooted into my Trinity 
desktop, and get a little further into building a new system, we'll see how 
it goes.
