There is a Matrix-Jabber bridge available. I've seen more than a few use it to 
communicate between the two protocols.

I never wanted to trade the mailing list, nor do I think it's going anywhere. 
I just think having faster, on-the-fly help is beneficial to us. I think the 
problem is we all disagree on the right platform. To be fair, I don't think 
any newcomer understands the protocols - whether it is Matrix, Jabber, or 
IRC. For example, the TDE IRC room stays barren. This already ruins the 
purpose of trying to have a quicker way to communicate when there's nobody to 
talk to.
