Sounds like an IMAP error, not a SM one, but having the log message it
tells you about would help.  Remember to read the posting guidelines
that in turn remind you that you need to do the legwork for things
like that.

I'd highly recommend using maildir format.

In any case, this is in no way a SquirrelMail issue.

Yes, it sounds like you do.  When you do, you should take your
findings (log messages, etc) to the forums that support your MTA
and/or IMAP servers, not SquirrelMail.
