Just to clarify...

Are you saying that Hotmail might have a problem with the "proxying for"
or the IP address that follows?

If the former, doesn't everyone eventually get proxied from their home
line? If the latter, it'd be funny (but not really since this is
Microsoft) if Hotmail had a problem with sympatico.ca since they run the
mail service for them.

Don't know if this helps, but Squirrelmail is called by apache running
behind a nginx frontend.
