My Dovecot capability:

* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 SORT THREAD=REFERENCES MULTIAPPEND UNSELECT 
LITERAL+ IDLE CHILDREN NAMESPACE LOGIN-REFERRALS STARTTLS AUTH=PLAIN 
AUTH=LOGIN]

shows order subject is not there but thread=references is fine.
