I was under the impression that the scsi raid controller (adaptec 2120S) did DMA by default?

A DMA howto I read:
"If you have SCSI disks, this is the only configuration you are likely to
have, and you do not need to do anything."


Yeah you're right, with scsi it's a non-issue, the dma thing is just one of my default comments - it's just a bit baffling that FC1 would be slower than RH9 on your hardware, I haven't seen that in the 10 or so assorted systems where I have FC1 running.
