Trying apt-get from RH9 to Fedora right now Ran into problems Didn't have enough hd room to dl the entire package list so have been doing it in pieces but I had to reboot to take the laptop in question with me and now I can't boot back in (getting some kind of errors that is likely due to improper versions of libraries). So now I can't find my RH 9 disk 1 to use as rescue and RH8 disk 1 won't work for me (when did they add ext3 support?). So I am now downloading the fedora disks anyway so I can use disk 1 as a rescue boot disk Would have likely worked if I didn't reboot before completing all the packages (I used this method to go from RH 8 to RH9) One problem that can't be overcome is that a full dist-upgrade removed a couple of packages that I wanted to save (courier-imap for instance) .. and I suspect that it changed my postfix mta back to a sendmail system. But catching these kinds of things is why I upgrade my laptop before my server Jay Daniels (jay@xxxxxxxxxxx) wrote: > > > I have been using yum to update packages and everything seems to work ok. > Also noticed that some Fedora users use a port of apt-get.
