anybody having any ideas??

Thanks in advance

modify the line in the /etc/X11/XF86Config file.

So, what is colour depth? Mine is set to 24. What does that mean and what other possible values are there?

Section "Screen"
   Identifier "Screen0"
   Device "Videocard0"
   Monitor "Monitor0"
   DefaultDepth 24
   SubSection "Display"
       Depth 24
       Modes "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
   EndSubSection
EndSection

I also know my monitor has more modes than the ones listed above. Windows gives me about 8 options and they all work.
