I need a PHP4 version which is compiled with multibyte string support
(configure --enable-mbstring).
And the PHP4 rpm that comes with shrike does not support this.
I need this to enable Japanese support for squirrelmail. ie squirrelmail
(1.4.2) gives the following error with the shrike version of PHP:

You need to have php4 installed with the multibyte string function enabled
(using configure option --enable-mbstring).
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mb_internal_encoding() in
/usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/i18n.php on line 1617
