I dont know much about the Fedora project, does it use the same old RedHat core? Will all current RedHat apps run on it? I mean look at how popular Ensim webservers have become and they are all based ONLY on RedHat.
And what is it about the Fedora Project that doesn't meet your needs?
I agree with the general sentiment here, RedHat should not change. I use redhat for a workstation at home, two at work and on all my servers (10). I bought a copy of RedHat from the store even though I can download it for free. I dont mind paying for it but I am not going to pay almost $200, it null and voids any and all "savings".
If RedHat sticks with this new plan I am gone, maybe Debian or SuSe. I wont stay with a company who drops and entire product line because they dont know how to market it. I cut out almost all Windows use about three years ago because I was fedup with their bull and now my Linux flavor of choice has shunned us as well. Such a shame.
Also the RH desktop market is growing, I for one here of more and more people switching over everyday. These are people I know not just internet people. A few more releases and RedHat could have really competed with Micro$oft but thats all over now.
Well I guess thats all I have to say about that, time to go look at Debian.
