Can't speak to the no mail in 2 weeks, thing, but there has been some 
decrease in traffic, recently.

As to the CD, you can, as root, type "eject /dev/cdrom" (or /dev/scd0, or 
/dev/hdd, or whatever device your CD lives at) and it will unmount and 
eject the disc.
