To make it easier, why don't you download APT & Synaptic for RH9 and install
Xine that way. All the dependencies will be downloaded and installed too.

Goto :- http://shrike.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=344 o get APT & Synaptic.
Install then get Xine etc..

Subject: mplayer or xine install dependencies?

Does an easy way exist to install a video player on RH 9 that will play
*.wmv files? I went to install mplayer and found it needed quite a list of
dpendencies.

Would installing xine be any easier?

[admin@xxx i386]$ rpm -ivh --test mplayer-0.90-fr2.i386.rpm

Would installing xine be any easier (and will it work as well as mplayer)? I
tried rebuilding the rpms and ran into a bunch more dependencies:

[admin@xxx SRPMS]$ rpmbuild --rebuild xine-0.9.21-fr1.src.rpm Installing
xine-0.9.21-fr1.src.rpm

Why isn't xine or mplayer in the RH 9 distro?

I tried checking rawhide, but got the too many connections errors.
