I noticed that the problem comes out when the fd was vfat formatted, no problem (just one try) with msdos format!!!
a process called fam is making my device busy...any suggestion??
By now you've probably done man fam to find out about it. Most likely you could kill it and never miss it.
But fam is running on my machine and I don't have this problem. Do you see the floppy listed when you do /bin/mount? Any chance there's another console or window somewhere looking at that drive?
Maybe you could post the output of /sbin/fuser -mv /dev/fd0
