I tried to be brief, so I wasn't complete.

LAN? well yes, seven different LANs (with Linux) in fact, for five different customers. And then there's that unconnected box on a desk without even a modem. So, I get pretty good use, not to mention mileage, out of my upgrade CD.<g>

The intent of my post was to question the bug report command:

rpm -Fvh glibc*

as opposed to the one that works for me:

rpm -Fvh i386/glibc-common-2.3.2- ... ... ... 7.9.i686.rpm

It seemed like the wildcard could easily install i386 code when i686 was needed.

But, I do thank everyone for wanting to make my life easier.<vbg>
