Thanks for the advice, Michael.  I suspect I am missing a cable.  Now I
wonder if I should find and install a 3-pin analog or a 2-pin digital
cable.  Is there a way to configure Red Hat 9 to be able to choose
analog or digital playback of audio CDs?
