The timeout for apps that aren't responding is much longer for the gnome-session in RHL 9 vs. RHL 8. This was primarily done so gnome-session wouldn't kill openoffice (since openoffice doesn't respond while it's doing its extended startup). So what you really have here is probably a broken app that doesn't respond. We fixed xmms just prior to release of RHL9, but if you built xmms yourself for example you might have this issue with it. Otherwise, the best thing to do is try to figure out which apps are running when you see the problem, and see if you can reliably cause or avoid the problem by having a specific app running. Havoc
