Try modifying the /etc/hosts file:

Mine looks like this - my computer name is gstpc, and I don't get the
message you get.  I have seen it in the past.  I did not set this up, it
was done during the normal install.

[gerry@xxxxx gerry]$ cat /etc/hosts
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1               gstpc localhost.localdomain localhost
