redhat-config-network & swapping pcmcia net cards

My wired network card on my laptop is a double bay card so it doesn't
need a dongle. in order for me to use my wireless card I have to remove
the wired card.

When I take out the wired card and add the wireless card,
redhat-config-network complains that the the driver loaded doesn't match
the driver it's configured with.

Is there a way to make RHL know that the wireless card should come up as
eth1 when eth0 does not exist. If I can get that working then I think I
can get it setup properly.

Has anybody come up to a solution for this kind of situation?
