I just re-downloaded the disc1 iso, md5sum'ed it, burned it using "-dao"
and it did NOT give a correct result when performing a `md5sum
/dev/cdrom'.

[root@xxxxxxxx kriderde]# cdrecord -v -dao dev=0,2,0 speed=12
driveropts=burnproof shrike-i386-disc1.iso

As you can see, my drive supports SAO, counted 326,656 sectors, and
didn't have an underrun. Without actually booting this disc and doing a
media check, I'm going to assume that the burn is good. I should be all
set. But when I try to actually do the md5sum on the disc...

[root@xxxxxxxx kriderde]# dd if=/dev/cdrom bs=2048 count=326656 | md5sum
-

314323+0 records in
314323+0 records out

md5sum doesn't even get the number of sectors right. Anyone have any
insight here?

TIA,
