Interesting. I completed the download of the 3 ISOs from RHN yesterday 
and have the Mesa Library versions I mentioned above. These libraries 
are the same ones on my disc 1. I can't imagine why yours would be 
different???

Yes that would be a bummer, but I can't believe that is the problem. 
Just out of curiosity what do you get when you do the following

ls -l /usr/lib/*GLU*

I get:

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           33 Mar 13 22:13 
/usr/lib/libGLU.so -> ../../usr/X11R6/lib/libGLU.so.1.3*
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           33 Mar 13 22:12 
/usr/lib/libGLU.so.1 -> ../../usr/X11R6/lib/libGLU.so.1.3*

Perhaps a simple link is missing?

We can also check /usr/X11R6/lib.

ls -l /usr/X11R6/lib/*GLU* yields:

/usr/X11R6/lib/libGLU.a
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           13 Mar 13 22:13 
/usr/X11R6/lib/libGLU.so -> libGLU.so.1.3*

Are yours different?

Otherwise I don't know what to tell you. You could try changing versions 
of XFree. When I do:

rpm -qa | grep XFree

all package versions are 4.3.0-2.1. Maybe someone else has an idea.
