Most likely anyone running XFree86 4.3.0-2.1 has not done a fresh
Shrike install. More likely they have been using phoebe beta,
then manually upgraded to my unsupported beta test versioin
4.3.0-2.1 of XFree86, and then did an unsupported upgrade from
our beta to Red Hat Linux 9.

That would explain how anyone using Red Hat Linux 9 has XFree86
4.3.0-2.1.

For all intents and purposes that matter, 4.3.0-2 and 4.3.0-2.1
are identical.
