MP3s Don't Work

I had the same problem with both Mac and Win files I'd written to cd's
some time ago.

Probably depending on the program under which they were written, some
had '.mp3' in the suffix (they played fine); those lacking the suffix
didn't show up or play.

I copied the files that didn't have the 'mp3' suffix to my hard drive,
renamed them to to show '<song title>.mp3'.......presto, they showed up
in xmms and I was able to play them.

Ymmv..........good luck!!
