opening URLs in mozilla tabs by default

Anyone know how to make the default behaviour for opening URLs (from the
terminal and evolution) to be to open a new tab in mozilla if there's
already one running, and start a new mozilla otherwise?

With galeon, one can use galeon -n %s, and it works fine, but when I
tried the equivalent command in mozilla (mozilla -remote
"openURL(%s,new-tab)") it doesn't seem to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Eric
