Yes, you can do. But if you switch you will miss some SuSE specific
entries you need for easy administration (e.g. the special admin
terminal). Of course, you can add them by yourself. -:) Furthermore some
options of KDE menue editor or corresponding control center window
(don't remember exactly) are not accessible (greyed out) in the SuSE
distro. 

With Linux you have the choice, but you have to {choice} (bad wording, I
know).
