Hello
I have problem installing RedHat 8.0 on my home made box.
The box consist of the following.
mainboard MSI K7D Master-L (MS-6501) bios ver 1.3
chipset AMD760MPX
cpu one athlon xp 1900+

When booting from cd-rom or from any of the boot images i get this error
APIC error on cpu0:04(04)
i have tried booting with "linux noapic" and "linux apic" but the result
is the same.

I installed the kernel-2.4.18-14.src.rpm on my 7.3 installation and used
compiled a kernel from the kernel-2.4.18-i386-BOOT.config config file
and got the same error, i the edited the config and changed
CONFIG_X86_UP_APIC=y
CONFIG_X86_UP_IOAPIC=y
CONFIG_X86_IO_APIC=y
CONFIG_X86_LOCAL_APIC=y
to
# CONFIG_X86_UP_APIC is not set
and compiled a new kernel and this one will allow the box to boot.

How do i make this change to the boot.img and bootnet.img images files
so i can install 8.0 on my box?
