Sorry, some mystery I do not understand. Backed to 4.3.0-2 and got the same effect - no errors in log files but a blank screen. Re-run configuration, which wrote really something like I was using before and got my picture back. Installed 4.3.0-5 again and I still have a picture. I am afraid that I am lost a bit. The problem that the only correct resolution for my display I have is in an 8-bit depth and no '-depth 24' at all still remains.
