Mike, much thanks. I've been trying to catch you off and on all weekend on #xfree86-devel on openprojects. I was politely informed that few developers hang out on #xfree86 and I'd have better luck elsewhere. I'd love to work through this with someone, from identification/verification to a patch. At this point, this bug/issue is a show stopper for my application, so it's my top priority.
