I expect the problem is related to your hardware. There is a known bug associated with previous versions of RH7.x that has to do with Cable select settings for cdroms. This is a jumper setting on the cdrom itself. If your cdrom is using cable select change this to the manual setting of master or slave whichever is appropriate. This bug created random read errors on the cds for install.
