Wild pointer.

Hi.
Sometimes when switching back to my Linux box with my KVM switch I have
a situation where my mouse pointer (the device is actually a trackball)
goes wild as soon as it is moved.
I have tried waiting a while in case I'm moving the pointer before the
switch as fully established but if it's going to do it it does it
regardless. it happens about 1 time in 5 and my quick fix is the do a
Ctrl+Alt+F1 followed by Ctrl+Alt+F7 and all is well except to close
whatever windows and applications the random movements and clicks have
opened.
This system is RHEL 3 it also happens on my RH9 box as well but never on
my windows laptop or the RHEL 3 box's alter ego (booted to XP). any
ideas ?
Regards Roger
