Look for keywords "product manual" "interface specification", in the support site. Not the installation guides or datasheets.

The real sneaky thing to do, however, is let google find manuals for you. Use google's advanced site search, point it to Seagate, Maxtor, whatever, and
Tell it to look for PDFs, give keywords of interface manual, or drive part number.

  sas interface manual site:seagate.com filetype:pdf

3 out of the first 4 hits on Seagate were interface manuals. You can have similar luck with other drive manufacturers.

Read the manual and they reference other manuals which have more information, but that is more info than you likely need. The interface manual for drive family is
Sufficient for most people. No way will they give firmware release notes or updates out to public. It would scare the heck out of people, and most people wouldn't know
What to do with drive firmware update if they had it, and if they don't set mode pages properly then an update could do real damage to their data.
