Honesty where honesty belongs:

I have now for the first time recognized this without Pulseaudio. On the 
T23 after plugging back the Sonica Theater to it. But at least it doesn?t 
seem to show up after suspend/resume cycle or reboot.

So this actually might be an ALSA issue or at least related to an ALSA 
issue.

I added this finding to the bug report.
