Wow.... a real person who just shot her business in the foot in a
public forum. That's a shame that we've just witnessed it. A simple,
"I hadn't read your reply and warning to the first unsolicited email I
sent" probably would've been more responsible and received a much
better welcome.

You sure pinned the tail on this donkey, Samantha! Of course,
I'll have to go back through and see where in the course of the years
I insinuated that I was better....

And as you clearly violate various laws and were told of such (but
apparently didn't notice the reply in your copy-and-paste mailings),
this is now actually considered slander and harassment. So what I
understand, Samantha, is that - while I'm sure you provide a great
service - your marketing tactics need to be evaluated.

It's hilarious how that goes from "no one here is trying to
offend" into a direct insult, all in the same breath. You don't even
know anyone here and cannot speak for any of them. If you did, you
would know that they will try to offend me at every opportunity. ;-P

"SELF-appointed importance?" That hurts, Samantha. You cut me
there. Cut me deep.

This entire time I'd been sitting here thinking, "wow, I am so
extremely important, I had better go and tell everyone." Well, I
guess there's another email that will just sit in my Drafts folder.
Thanks for bringing me back down to Earth.

That's all it would've taken? You should've read the archives
before posting here. Hopefully the folks who post deals on "Rolecks"
watches will do the same.

You most certainly are, Samantha. The point of contention is not
in *what* you're marketing, but rather *how* you're marketing to the
community. If you were to be the real person you advertise and say,
"hey, everyone, my name is Samantha, and I do this, that, and the
other stuff, and I'd like to describe my business," you'd have gotten
a few less-than-desirable responses, for sure, but overall it would've
been more than acceptable. The vast majority of us do at least some
freelancing development work, and we all appreciate the need to market
ourselves.... especially now.

And despite the sarcasm and whatever else you may take as
discouraging from all of this, I genuinely wish nothing less than 200%
of that back to you.

    ~ Dan (SELF-appointed important person)
