I agree , you couldn't avoid using a framework unless you're writing a PHP
toy application.

I must like writing mickey mouse programs and toy applications for they seem to solve my clients problems.

Maybe some day I'll learn how to use a framework and then do some "approved" work, but I don't think my clients will notice much difference.
