What I did try was different versions of PHP (All using FastCGI &
APC-dev) (if this even helps):
5.1.2 -- Failed
5.1.1 -- Failed
5.0.5 -- Success

Your script works fine for me on linux, php 5.1.2 FastCGI + apc-dev.
