I can't get APC 3.0.8 to work on anything, at all. On Windows, it
crashes the server, and on Linux, it can't handle objects. For
example:

<?php

class abc {
}

$a = new abc;

var_dump($a);

?>

Gives:

NULL

Any idea on what is going on?

Use the CVS version. I need to push a new version out soon.

cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@xxxxxxxxxxx:/repository login
Password: phpfi
cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@xxxxxxxxxxx:/repository co pecl/apc
cd pecl/apc
phpize
./configure --enable-apc-mmap --with-apxs=/usr/local/bin/apxs \
            --with-php-config=/usr/local/bin/php-config
make
make install

(and restart your web server)
