PhotoForum members' photographs on view at: http://people.rit.edu/andpph/gallery.html

My brief comments:

Dan Mitchell - Early Light - I think this photograph conveys the sense of the time of day and serenity of the location. Awaiting the "crowds" that will fill the tables later on in the day. I like the atmosphere conveyed in the photograph.

John Palcewski - Blossoms - At first I wanted to turn the photograph upside down but eventually it "grew' on me. I'd probably crop tighter and eliminate the intruding items at top of the frame. The fat the blossoms com down from the top actually adds an element of interest I think.

Emily L. Ferguson - Spring in the White Cedar Swamp, Wellfleet, MA - I am sorry this does not do much for me Emily. And I think I can generalize about blurry photographs ... I don't relate to most of those I've seen. Notice I said "generalize" because I have seen some where blur is used effectively ... but this one is not one of them IMO! ;)

Art Faul - Unmarked Confederate mass grave, Gettysburg. The story is probably more effective than the photograph. I think together they work because without the story the photograph is not "something" ... just a field with some monuments. The story is vital.

Andrew Davidhazy - Soaring - thanks for tips from all who participated!

Don Roberts - Iridescence? - Don, I can swear I've run across similar shortcomings with my digital Canons wheras with Ektachrome in my film Canons I recorded the iridiscence quite well. Without a polarizer on lens.

Andy
