Well yes you should have had 3 or 4 reflectors set up around the nest or a couple more lights. And you could have tacked a poster of a forest on the wall behind the nest for a better backdrop. And as for the poses of the birds well you could have sealed up the barn and pumped tractor exhaust in there until all the birds were dead then posed them until rigor mortis set in then set up the scene the way you wanted it. But for a recording of real life as a bird, this is fantastic. Mom's wing has not even fully folded and the chicks are already in full 'feed me' mode looking like they are singing opera.
