I humbly submit my observations on this week's gallery.

Pini Vollach - The tones in this image are lovely. What bothers me is that I can't quite figure out what's going on and how those leaves are floating or hanging or sticking up and what are they floating, hanging or sticking up out of? Trying to figure it out is distracting me from enjoying the image.

Gregory david Stempel - Smith Tower, Seattle No. 1 - Ah, Seattle. I was just there. I like this image, I like the way you've made it appear mystical with the blur and the haze. The sharp, bright triangle against the dark tower, the hints of clouds, the various tones. I like this very much.

Jim Snarski - Eld Inlet Sunrise - Ah, Puget Sound. I've dipped my toes in there a time or two. I think the reflection makes this image. The tree at the left edge works to hold the eye in and the dock (?) gives a point of interest. Nice.

Lea Murphy - Edyn's first birthday - I do so much studio work that I sometimes forget how gorgeous natural light can be. This is one of my favorite images of Edyn...I like the light skimming across her face modeling it, I like the festive birthday hat, her sweet little hands, and the catchlights in her eyes. This was really a grab shot taken as we were preparing to eat...her older brother and sister were romping around near me but to look at this peaceful face you'd never know it.

John Palcewski - Lumberjacks - This is one of those images that could end up in a museum and you'd look at it and wonder how (or why) it got there. There's something very matter-of-fact about it and also something kind of mysterious...I think it's the juxtaposition of the angle of the felled tree vs the straight and strong trees in the background. The workers wearing white is a total boon to this shot. Well seen and presented.

Marilyn Dalrymple - Whats So Interesting Out There? - This image reads much better in its proper orientation! I think it's funny how, a mile away, you'd see this little snippet of life and know precisely what's going on. A sweet image.

Andrew Davidhazy - Attention getter - I don't know how you could have possibly done anything with this house but exactly what you did...it's such a perfect 'it is what it is' sort of image. The little cloud tuft is a nice touch and the green curtains add a little (more) punch.
