Kim,
Trust me, these images seem to be all I'm shooting these days...if that
isn't restating your point :) This particular leaf yielded three unique
images, two of which I'm more happy with (each shared over the last two
weeks and taking advantage of contrasting light capture), the third (not
submitted to the gallery) seeming to be a greater favorite among friends
is much softer and evenly lit. This particular treatment of the leaf is
boldly different than the rest, almost to the point of it being more
confident than I am.
This exploration has proven to be an emotionally rewarding experience
for me. It's the closest I've come to a darkroom on the computer, apart
from making alt prints. A regular post production routine has developed
for these images that is every bit as detailed as growing moon-eyed
under a red light. Every image is magical for me and requires
considerable attention. I prefer to think of them as being found rather
than being made. Even though the lights and tent have made this process
much easier to control, I am continuously taken aback by what my eye is
unable to see through the lens.
This is a growing study (and that's probably the most appropriate word
for it) that's been in progress for the last year, and yesterday took a
turn into the increased challenge of the animate world.

to be hesitating... like you are not quite sure of yourself.
